GLOW, the Newcastle Cultural Education Partnership
The Newcastle Cultural Educational Partnership is Newcastle’s Local Cultural Education Partnership and was created to support young people and children to fulfill their creative potential and help access cultural experiences where they live.
We Are Ken was appointed by NCEP to reimagine and redefine this brand offering to truly reflect their purpose and aims.
Our solution started with the name. Newcastle Cultural Educational Partnership didn’t ignite the creative passions and cultural potential at first glance, but armed with documentation and ideas from a stakeholder workshop we came up with the name GLOW.
A name to reflect the emotional aspects of culture, the feeling of warmth when a creative passion has started. A sensation of excitement. A literal glow of elation and the experience of a new cultural and personal experience.
The aim of GLOW: continually connecting young people and children to different aspects of the arts and culture was the starting point for the new brand icon, the ‘G’. Made up of multiple lines it embodies an organisation that ignites passions and sparks of potential.
As part of the project, we designed a wide range of printed collateral. To complement this, we worked with our digital and development partners PhoneticDigital who created a new website. The website is a fully flexible and continually evolving WordPress site which they are now empowered to manage in-house. This allows Glow to showcase their projects and diverse initiatives and ultimately glow into the future.
